Voltage Sensor Module 25V
The Voltage Sensor Module 25V is a compact and reliable analog voltage sensing module designed to measure DC voltages up to 25V safely using a microcontroller. The module functions as a precision voltage divider, reducing higher input voltages to a lower, safe voltage level that can be read directly by the analog input (ADC) of development boards such as Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, STM32, PIC, AVR, NodeMCU, and Raspberry Pi (with an external ADC).
The module is commonly used for monitoring battery voltage, power supply output, solar panel voltage, charging systems, and other DC power sources. By converting high DC voltages into a proportional analog signal, it enables microcontrollers to perform accurate voltage measurements without exposing their analog input pins to potentially damaging voltage levels.
Designed for simplicity and reliability, the Voltage Sensor Module requires no additional active components or external power supply. It consists of a precision resistor network that provides a fixed voltage division ratio, allowing continuous and real-time voltage monitoring. Its compact PCB design and straightforward three-pin interface make it easy to integrate into embedded systems, automation equipment, IoT devices, robotics, and educational electronics projects.
The module is suitable for students, hobbyists, engineers, and developers who require a simple, cost-effective solution for monitoring DC voltage in electronic circuits and battery-powered applications.
Working Principle
The Voltage Sensor Module operates using a precision resistor voltage divider circuit. When a DC voltage is applied to the input terminals, the resistor network proportionally reduces the voltage to approximately one-fifth of its original value. For example, an input voltage of 25V is reduced to approximately 5V, which is within the safe operating range of most 5V analog inputs.
The reduced analog voltage is connected to the microcontroller's ADC input, where it is converted into a digital value. Using the known voltage divider ratio and ADC reference voltage, the microcontroller calculates the actual input voltage through software.
Since the module contains only passive components, it provides stable, fast, and reliable voltage measurement with minimal power consumption.
