The TSOP1838B 3-Pin Infrared (IR) Receiver Sensor (Pack of 5) is a high-performance infrared receiver module designed to detect and decode 38kHz modulated infrared signals transmitted by IR remote controls and other infrared communication devices. It integrates a photodiode, preamplifier, automatic gain control (AGC), band-pass filter, and demodulator into a compact three-pin package, providing reliable and noise-resistant IR signal reception for embedded systems and electronic projects.

The TSOP1838B is specifically tuned to receive 38kHz carrier frequency infrared signals, making it compatible with most consumer IR remote controls. When an infrared signal is detected, the internal circuitry filters out ambient light and electrical noise, then demodulates the received signal into a clean digital output that can be processed directly by a microcontroller. This eliminates the need for additional signal conditioning circuits and ensures stable operation even under varying lighting conditions.
