P55NF06 N-Channel Power MOSFET

P55NF06 N-Channel Power MOSFET is a high-performance N-channel power MOSFET designed for electronic switching and power control applications. It is commonly used in circuits where a microcontroller or control signal needs to switch a higher-current electrical load. The device is available in a TO-220 package and is suitable for applications such as DC motor control, LED switching, power supplies, battery-powered systems, robotics, automation, and other electronic projects.

The P55NF06 is rated for a 60V drain-source voltage and is specified for up to 50A drain current under appropriate conditions. It features low on-state resistance, helping reduce power losses when the MOSFET is fully switched on. The device is designed for switching applications and is also characterized for avalanche capability and high dv/dt performance.

The P55NF06 N-Channel Power MOSFET has three main terminals: Gate (G), Drain (D), and Source (S). Applying a suitable voltage between the gate and source controls the current flow between the drain and source. This allows the MOSFET to function as an efficient electronic switch. It can be controlled by suitable driver circuits or microcontrollers, but the actual gate-drive voltage must be considered carefully when designing the circuit. The standard STP55NF06 datasheet specifies its on-resistance at a gate-source voltage of 10V, so it should not automatically be treated as a logic-level MOSFET for direct 3.3V or 5V gate drive.

The P55NF06 N-Channel Power MOSFET is widely suitable for switching DC loads such as motors, lamps, LED systems, heaters, solenoids, and other power devices. In robotics projects, it can be used to control motors and other high-current loads with an appropriate driver circuit. It can also be used in PWM-based applications for controlling motor speed or LED brightness when properly driven.
