LITHIUM ION CELLS / 18650 LI-ION BATTERY 

A 18650 lithium-ion battery is a cylindrical rechargeable cell widely used in portable electronics and energy storage applications. The term 18650 refers to its standard size: approximately 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length. These batteries are known for their high energy density, long cycle life, and reliable performance.

Lithium-ion cells operate by the movement of lithium ions between the anode and cathode during charging and discharging. They typically provide a nominal voltage of 3.6V to 3.7V per cell and can be combined in series or parallel to form battery packs for higher voltage or capacity requirements. These cells are commonly used in laptops, power banks, electric vehicles, LED lights, and DIY electronics projects.

The battery includes safety features such as pressure relief vents and may be used with protection circuits to prevent overcharging, over-discharging, and short circuits. Due to their lightweight and high efficiency, they are preferred over traditional battery types.
