Working Principle

The L298D Motor Driver Module operates using dual H-Bridge circuitry, which allows the polarity of the voltage supplied to the motor terminals to be reversed electronically.

The module receives logic control signals from a microcontroller through its input pins. Based on these signals, the H-Bridge switches the current flow through the motor, allowing it to rotate in the forward or reverse direction.

Motor speed is controlled by applying a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal to the enable pins. By varying the PWM duty cycle, the average voltage supplied to the motor changes, allowing smooth speed control.

The module can independently control two DC motors or drive one bipolar stepper motor using the appropriate control sequence.
