HT12D Decoder IC

The HT12D is a 12-bit CMOS decoder integrated circuit designed for wireless remote control and remote switching applications. It is commonly paired with the HT12E encoder IC to provide reliable wireless data communication using RF or IR transmission modules. The HT12D receives serial data from an RF or infrared receiver, verifies the transmitted address, and converts the received serial data into 4-bit parallel outputs.

The IC decodes a total of 12 bits, consisting of 8 address bits and 4 data bits. For successful data reception, the address configured on the HT12D must match the address set on the corresponding HT12E encoder. The received address is verified continuously to ensure accurate communication, and only valid transmissions are accepted. Once the address is successfully matched, the decoded 4-bit data is latched at the output pins and remains unchanged until a new valid transmission is received.

A Valid Transmission (VT) output pin goes HIGH whenever a correct address and data combination is detected, providing an indication that the received data is valid. The HT12D operates with low power consumption, high noise immunity, and stable performance, making it ideal for wireless control systems, automation projects, security systems, and embedded electronic applications.
