Flame Sensor Module
The Flame Sensor Module is a compact and reliable electronic sensor designed to detect the presence of fire or open flames by sensing the infrared (IR) radiation emitted by a flame. It is widely used in fire detection systems, safety alarms, industrial monitoring, robotics, smart home automation, and educational electronics projects. The module provides fast and accurate flame detection and can be easily interfaced with microcontrollers such as Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, STM32, PIC, AVR, NodeMCU, and PLC systems.
The module incorporates a high-sensitivity infrared photodiode along with an onboard comparator circuit to detect the characteristic infrared wavelengths produced by flames. When a flame is detected within the sensor's operating range, the module generates an output signal that can be used to activate alarms, trigger safety mechanisms, or initiate automated responses. An onboard potentiometer allows users to adjust the detection sensitivity according to the application, improving detection accuracy under different environmental conditions.

Working Principle
A flame emits infrared radiation primarily within the wavelength range of approximately 760 nm to 1100 nm. The infrared sensing element on the module detects this radiation and converts it into an electrical signal. This signal is processed by the onboard amplifier and comparator circuit, which compares it with a preset threshold value. If the detected infrared intensity exceeds the selected threshold, the module activates its output and indicates flame detection through the output pin and onboard indicator LED.
The onboard sensitivity adjustment potentiometer enables users to increase or decrease the detection threshold, allowing the sensor to operate effectively in different lighting conditions and at varying distances from the flame.
