FLAME SENSOR MODULE

The Flame Sensor Module is an electronic sensing device designed to detect the presence of fire or flame by sensing infrared light emitted by flames. WORKING PRINCIPLE

Flames emit infrared radiation in the wavelength range of approximately 760 nm to 1100 nm. The infrared sensor on the module detects this radiation and sends a signal to the onboard amplifier and comparator circuit. The signal is compared with a preset threshold, and when the flame radiation exceeds this threshold, the module generates an output signal. Depending on the module design, this output can be digital (ON/OFF) or sometimes analog. An onboard potentiometer allows adjustment of sensitivity to suit different detection ranges and applications, ensuring accurate and responsive flame detection.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

The Flame Sensor Module typically operates at 3.3 V to 5 V DC and can detect flames up to approximately 80 centimeters, depending on the size of the flame. The sensor has a detection angle of about 60 degrees and operates within the infrared wavelength range of 760–1100 nm. The module features digital output and, in some designs, optional analog output. Sensitivity can be adjusted using the onboard potentiometer, and the response time is fast for immediate detection. It is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi, and PLC systems, making it easy to integrate into various electronics and automation projects.
