4 Channel IR Tracking Sensor Module
The 4 Channel IR Tracking Sensor Module is an infrared-based sensor designed for line-following, path detection, and surface recognition in robotics and automation projects. It consists of four independent infrared (IR) transmitter and receiver pairs, enabling the module to detect black and white surfaces with high accuracy. This makes it ideal for line-following robots, autonomous vehicles, and intelligent navigation systems.
Each sensing channel emits infrared light onto the surface below using an IR LED. The reflected light is detected by a phototransistor or photodiode receiver. White or light-coloured surfaces reflect more infrared light, while black or dark surfaces absorb it. Based on the amount of reflected light, the module generates digital output signals that can be processed by a microcontroller to determine the position of a line or track.
The module operates from a 3.3V to 5V DC power supply and provides four independent digital output channels, allowing precise line position detection. Each channel is equipped with an onboard sensitivity adjustment potentiometer, enabling users to fine-tune the detection range according to different surface colours and lighting conditions. Status LEDs indicate the operating state of each sensor, simplifying setup and troubleshooting.
Designed for easy integration, the 4 Channel IR Tracking Sensor Module is fully compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi (through GPIO), STM32, PIC, AVR, 8051, and other microcontroller platforms.
