RAIN DROP SENSOR MODULE 

The Rain Drop Sensor Module is an electronic sensor designed to detect the presence of rain, water droplets, or surface moisture. It is widely used in weather monitoring systems, smart irrigation controllers, automatic rain detection devices, water leakage monitoring, and educational electronics projects.

The module consists of a rain sensing plate with parallel conductive traces and a control board that interprets the sensor signal. When water droplets fall on the sensing plate, they create conductive paths between the traces, reducing resistance and altering the voltage. The control board processes this change and provides both analog and digital outputs, enabling detection of rain presence or estimation of rain intensity. Sensitivity can be easily adjusted using the onboard potentiometer to suit different environmental conditions.

Operating at 3.3–5 V DC, the sensor delivers fast response times and is compatible with Arduino, ESP32, ESP8266, Raspberry Pi (via ADC for analog output), and PLC systems. Its analog output reflects the water level or rain intensity, while the digital output signals simple rain/no-rain detection.
