ACS712 30A CURRENT SENSOR MODULE
The ACS712 30A Current Sensor Module is a Hall-effect–based sensor designed to accurately measure AC and DC currents. It provides an analog voltage output proportional to the current flowing through the conductor while maintaining electrical isolation between the high-current path and low-voltage control circuitry. This ensures safe integration with microcontroller-based systems. The 30A variant is suitable for higher current applications and is widely used in power monitoring, motor control, battery management systems, inverters, and educational electronics projects.
WORKING PRINCIPLE
The ACS712 operates using the Hall Effect, where a magnetic field generated by current flow is detected by an integrated Hall sensor. As current passes through the internal copper conductor, a proportional voltage signal is produced. The output voltage varies linearly with the current and is centered around half of the supply voltage when no current is present. This analog signal can be read by a microcontroller’s ADC to calculate the exact current flow in the system, providing accurate and real-time current monitoring.

The module uses a Hall Effect sensor to measure currents ranging from −30 A to +30 A (AC or DC). It operates at 5 V DC and provides an analog voltage output with a sensitivity of approximately 66 mV/A. High electrical isolation is maintained between the current path and the signal pins. The module supports a bandwidth of up to 80 kHz and features VCC, OUT, and GND pins for easy connection.
