Working Principle

The MG996R operates using a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) control signal. A microcontroller sends pulses every 20 ms (50 Hz), with the pulse width determining the servo shaft position.

Typical control pulses are:

Inside the servo, an electronic control circuit compares the commanded position with the actual shaft position using a built-in potentiometer.
