LM139 Quad Precision Voltage Comparator IC

The LM139 series consists of four independent precision voltage comparators designed for accurate voltage level detection and signal comparison applications. Each comparator compares two input voltages and provides a digital output indicating which input is higher. The device is optimized for single-supply operation over a wide voltage range, while also supporting dual-supply configurations.

One of the key features of the LM139 is its very low input offset voltage, typically as low as 2 mV max, which ensures high accuracy across all four internal comparators. The input common-mode voltage range includes ground, allowing the device to correctly operate even when the input signal is near zero volts in single-supply systems.

The outputs of the LM139 are open-collector type, enabling wired-AND configurations by connecting multiple outputs together. This makes the IC highly useful in logic control and decision-making circuits. It can directly interface with TTL and CMOS logic levels, and when used with dual supplies, it can also interface with MOS logic systems. Its low power consumption is independent of supply voltage, making it efficient for continuous operation.
